Professional Ship Simulator has been public longer than the current name. It was shown as NauticXP, partnered with Aerosoft, and then rebranded in April 2026. Steam Early Access is scheduled for 16 September 2026, announced during GameStar’s Find Your Next Game Show and repeated in the official trailer. This hub is the timeline. Deep dives live in Early Access, patch notes, and the roadmap.

Until that date, treat the paid game as upcoming. The free demo is already the way to test physics. We will not mark the full product as live until Steam actually flips the switch.

What to read first

  • Early Access and release date — price policy, current-state FAQ, platforms, what you get on day one.
  • Patch notes — release candidate 1717, beta 1667, demo hotfixes, missing feeder and medium trawler.
  • Roadmap — mid-2027 target to leave EA, modding delay, extra scenery, extra ships.
  • Getting started — if you actually want to sail the demo tonight.
  • Official links — Discord, nauticxp.com, Steam, support mail.

Patch notes from public betas already hint at the live-ops style: fast travel improvements, water and foam experiments, radio fallbacks, replacement boats in rescue missions. Revision 1667 (August 2026) is the kind of note we will keep mirroring once EA begins.

Recent public milestones

  • 1 August 2025 — public beta / demo push.
  • October 2025 — demo update with extra harbors and offshore work.
  • Late 2025 — Aerosoft partnership becomes the publishing story.
  • 9 April 2026 — rebrand to Professional Ship Simulator, reveal trailer.
  • 2026 demos — new demo drops, creator streams, official tutorials.
  • 21 August 2026 — gamepad layout published; beta revision 1667 notes.
  • 8 September 2026 — keyboard overview refresh; Early Access release candidate 1717 (Career to Level 2, Rügen chart, missing feeder/trawler).
  • 12 September 2026 — IGN gameplay explainer with Volker Steigerwald.

Use this list as orientation, not as a legal changelog. Official words always win if they disagree with a creator video.

How this wiki will track patches

After 16 September 2026 we will add dated notes here rather than silently rewriting every guide. Mechanics that move — fast travel events, new hulls, keybind revisions — will also be patched into controls, missions, and the ships hub. If a Steam build contradicts a page, trust the build and check official links.

This is a fan wiki. We do not have a private roadmap. Anything about VR, extra maps, or price is labelled as stated by the developer or as unconfirmed. For the product pitch versus the remaining gaps, read the preview.
